JUNE 27TH & 28TH
SALIDA CHALK FESTIVAL

June 27-28 I got to be an artist at The 2nd annual Salida Chalk Festival. Such a great event! This small Colorado Town is big on art. Besides the Chalk fest, they have a thriving arts scene that always strives to include the community as well. The river recreation, which includes rafting, kayaking, and even surfing, plus the vibrant downtown make this event super fun. There was a steady crowd of locals, regional folk, and other visitors. All friendly and enjoying the festival and all the good vibes. The festival theme this year was “Celebrate Nature”.  I created a colorful deer, which many folks said was magical🙂🦌💫🌈

A bonus for me at this event was that my youngest son who just graduated HS was also a selected artist. I am enjoying this Summer of Chalk with him. We are artists at three of the same events. I love his style and hope he has chances to create when he leaves for college.

Our next event is July 26 in Aurora, the 7/20 Memorial Day of Resilience.

JUNE 7TH & 8TH
DENVER CHALK ART FESTIVAL

I have been creating at this festival since 2013! This piece is called Feelin’ It. It is inspired by my kids and how they are when they are creating. Speaking of my kids, the highlight this year for me was that my youngest child also created at this event. He has been going to this event with me since he was 6 years old. My "little assistant" chatting it up with all the artists, eating snacks, drawing on the curb. He just graduated and turned 18. He submitted on his own and got to be one of the artists at the festival. I love that this was my first event when I started showing my art in 2013 and that it is his first event as an adult. I love that all my kids got creativity going on!

5TH ANNUAL CHALK LINES & VINES

This May I participated in Chalk Lines & Vines once again! I created 2 large chalk pieces. The event was held indoors this year and the artists drew on roofing paper. While it is always fun to be outside in the streets and the energy that lends to a festival, it was actually nice and less tiring being indoors. The event, as usual, was well run and had some fantastic wines and vendors. About 20 artists were selected for the event and it was nice to meet some new artists as well a kick off the summer festival season with some familiar faces.

MOCAP GIG

On the acting side, I got to do something new. I became an animation! I was hired to do MoCap (motion capture) by Hovercraft Studio for some characters in an animated commercial for ResMed. It was interesting and fun to put on the rokoku suit and get all calibrated and…moooove.
