ELEVATING
CONNECTIONS
ElevatingConnections is an organization that helps reconnect siblings in the foster care system and emphasizes using art and self-expression so they can find and use their unique voice in this world. Last year was my first experience with EC. I was one of the artists who created a backpack for their auction and fundraiser. I also participated in their art show May 2024. This December I created a backpack design for their year end auction. You can check out the organization here:
BROOMFIELD
OUT LOUD
I recently created art for the community of Broomfield in their Broomfield Out Loud project. It is a storyteller project in which community members were interviewed and told their stories and then were paired with artists. The artists ranged from musicians/composers to filmmakers to painters. On October 18 the community was invited to an immersive showcase where actors told the stories; and the art was displayed, played and shown. The art will be on display in Broomfield Depot Museum and the library. It was a privilege to be selected to be part of this storyteller project.

GLENWOOD CONVERGENCE
MURAL PROJECT
In September I got to create a mural for the Glenwood Springs Community Convergence project. “Water is Life” is a colorful abstract fish swimming through and around a large box in Sayre Park. So much fun interacting with the park-goers, especially the kids! The mural is located on a busy corner in the middle of a neighborhood. Three other artists/teams created murals around town for the project. I love how residents of Glenwood Springs are so supportive and appreciative of art!

FOR THE RECORD
ART SHOW
On September 14th was the opening reception of For the Record Art Show at Spectra Art Space, a fun and funky local gallery I've exhibited with many times.
What a fun opening!
WALK THE CHALK
ART FESTIVAL
A fun art fest in the cute historic downtown Littleton, a variety of artists from professional to kids participated. I created a piece based on a painting I recently did of a lion. “Dandy Lion” won 2nd place!
7/20 AURORA MEMORIAL
This yearly event is in remembrance of those who died in the Aurora cinema shooting. Because that shooting took place in my community and impacted us, participating in this event has significance to me. Using the arts to bring healing and awareness. The theme for 2024 was Resilience.

SALIDA CHALK FESTIVAL
On June 29th I was one of the artists at the inaugural Salida Chalk Festival! This year the theme was Sweet Home Salida. I created a piece based on a local historical character, Loyal Duke.
Duke was a dog that belonged to the owner of the Monte Cristo Hotel and greeted guests for many years. He also over saw the rail yard and saved a child. There is even a park named after him! The festival was lots of fun, check out a reel of the show below.
